The light in the way we know it is a range of wavelengths that the eye is sensitive. It is an electromagnetic radiation or a more general sense, any electromagnetic radiation that lies between the infrared and ultraviolet radiation . The three basic physical quantities of light (and all electromagnetic radiation) are: brightness ( amplitude ), color ( frequency ) and polarization (angle of vibration). Due to the wave-particle duality , light exhibits properties of both waves and particles .
A ray of light is the representation of the path of light in a given space, and its representation indicates where the light goes out (source) and where it goes. The concept of ray of light was introduced by Alhazen . Propagating in homogeneous medium, light always travels straight trajectories, only in non-homogeneous is that the light can describe curved paths.
In a figurative sense means to make something clear or understandable.
